Here’s why a leading Russian hypersonic missile developer was arrested for treason
A top Russian hypersonic missile developer has been arrested on accusations of betrayal, the Tass News Agency managed by the Russian government said Friday-the third science was arrested for this year’s betrayal.
Alexander Shiplyuk who is 55 years old, Director of the Institute of theoretical and applied mechanics of the Siberian branch from the Russian Academy of Sciences, was captured by the FSB, the agent of Russia’s main counter-intellect.
To the Lefortovo pre-trial detention facility in Moscow, the Russian News Agency TASS quoted Vasily Fomin, the scientific head of the institution, such as saying. Two other scientists – Anatoly Maslov and Dmitry Kolker – were arrested this year for handing over the secret of the country to China.
Professor Shiplyuk is the Head of the Institute of Novosibirsk Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and has led research on hypersonic missiles – Weapons claimed by President Vladimir Putin will give Russia strategic benefits.
Putin said that weapons, which can travel up to nine times the speed of sound, will be mobilized by the Navy for the next few months.
Shiplyuk’s detention came more than a month after Maslov’s arrest on June 27 and the Kolker detention on June 30. Maslov is the Head of Researcher of the while Kolker’s institution is a researcher and physics and mathematics doctor at the Institute of Laser Physics Siberian Branch from the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims the lecture given by Kolker in China in 2018 contains state secrets. He died on July 2 – two days after his arrest – due to pancreatic cancer.
The Putin government sees traitors everywhere in the sign of increasing paranoia. This is like a witch hunt, “the source of Western diplomat told the Daily Mail.
In May, Moscow announced that they had succeeded in testing hypersonic zircon missiles with a range of about 1,000 km (625 miles). The North Fleet Commander announced that the system would be installed on a new fregate at the end of this year.
Vladimir Putin claims that his new “unstable” anti-hypersonic anti-pesawat carrier missiles and that a new nuclear missile named Satan-2, which is laden with 14 upstreams, is the deadliest weapon in the world.
Military giants such as the US, China and Russia all work to develop Hypersonic Glide Vehicle (HGV) weapons. Theoretically adept at flying at hypersonic speeds while can also modify the direction and height to avoid radar detection, this nimble weapon can also maneuver effectively to avoid missile defense, and, according to defense experts, it is very difficult to maintain.
