Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is a Ukrainian Facility, Says IAEA Chief
International Atomic Energy Agency head Rafael Grossi said on Thursday that theU.N. nuclear watchdog considered the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power factory to be a Ukrainian installation.
Russia captured the factory in southern Ukraine in March, shortly after overrunning Ukraine, and Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his government on Wednesday to take control of it.
The factory is Europe’s largest, and Ukrainian staff have continued to operate it.
This is a matter that has to do with transnational law we want the war to stop incontinently, and of course the position of the IAEA is that this installation is a Ukrainian installation,” .
Grossi told journalists in Kyiv.He was due to travel to Moscow for addresses to meet Russian officers following his addresses in the Ukrainian capital.
