Kabul: Former Prime Minister of Afghan and Head of Hizb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has urged the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan to take sincere and effective steps to overcome the widening gaps as the combined enemy they will benefit from the situation and people from from the situation and the people of these two countries will suffer.

In an exclusive chat with a group of Pakistani journalists at his residence here, he said the steps must be taken to overcome the misunderstanding and trust between the two neighboring Muslim countries. “I see the gap between Islamabad and Kabul widened and on the other hand Kabul and Delhi are getting closer to each other,” he added.

He said that if Pakistan had some concerns about Pakistani’s tehrik-e-taliban (TTP), the problem must be resolved through sincere efforts together. He said that TTP was formed and activated during US aggression here. That is an old problem and should not be associated with the current Afghan government, he added.

We want the resolution of this problem. We have talked to the Taliban leaders for this purpose, “he added. The Taliban, has also made an effort to solve this problem because its decline further will produce more problems, which are not good for the two countries, he maintains.

About Daesh, he said it was not a big problem. “It also appears to the surface during the US invasion. This organization is supported by intelligence institutions from certain countries. There are no Muslims who can think about attacking mosques or even non-Muslim places of worship, “he said, referring to the recent attack on the Sikh Temple in Kabul.

Hekmatyar expressed deep concern over the problems faced by Afghanistan in the movement across the border to Pakistan. He said Afghan people had to experience great insults at the border. Likewise, the issuance of visas to Afghanistan is also a serious problem. They have to pay USD 950 to 1000 to get a Pakistani visa and that is also after a serious insult, he said. On the border, Afghanistan had to wait a few nights to cross to Pakistan, he added.

“If the Pakistani government has several problems with the Taliban government, it must be resolved better at the government level and the people should not be punished because of it,” he advised. Regarding the situation in Afghanistan, he said the government is currently inheriting Afghanistan which was destroyed in which the active war had been fought for for almost five decades.

The US wants to withdraw its troops and let their system intact. The Taliban has also agreed to this and has been decided in Doha Accord as well, he said. But events occur against their wishes. The Afghan President fled before the withdrawal of US troops. “Now they want to take revenge by imposing another war on Afghanistan,” he said.

They have a frozen bank account Afghanistan and their drones fly in the Afghan air to pressure the current government. If there are countries who want to recognize the Taliban government, the US threatens him to stay away from him, “he added.

He said that there was a greater need for an impartial and strong and stable government in Afghanistan. “We are happy with the current government. War has ended. Foreign aggressors are no longer here. Afghanistan can have their own system, “he said.

He said that the Taliban government had to overcome internal problems before making efforts to recognize by foreign countries. The Taliban must first formulate the elected parliament, which must introduce the constitution for the country, he added. “In this way they will get legitimacy and world countries will be forced to recognize Afghanistan,” he advised.
