Two British fighters were arrested in Ukraine by Russian forces emerged in State TV Moscow and asked to be exchanged for pro-Russian politicians who are currently held by Ukrainian authorities, Reuters reported.

According to reports, it is not clear how free the two men – Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin – can speak.

Both the British fighters have asked Prime Minister Boris Johnson to help bring him home in exchange for Ukraine releasing pro-Russian politicians Viktor Medvedchuk.

We want to exchange themselves and Aiden Aslin for Mededchuk. Obviously I would really appreciate your help in this matter,” he said, he spoke a little Russian and had been treated well.

According to the English website Sky News, pinner was caught on the camera said he was arrested at Mariupol when fighting with Ukrainian marines. Pinner said he was fighting in the port city for the past five to six weeks.

Aiden Aslin, another British citizen who belonged to Newark in Nottingham, was one of the last Ukrainian soldiers who had given up at Mariupol. He has joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a Marine in 2018 and also proposed citizenship.

Aslin struggled to defend Ukraine for more than 50 days, but the lack of supplies forced the unit to surrender. In a video broadcast by TV State Russia, the soldier seemed to have cut and bruised on his face.

The unknown man was then shown to speak to Aslin, who sat in a seat wearing a sweatshirt carrying a Azov battalion symbol which was far right in Ukraine.

I think Boris needs to listen to what Oksana said (Medvedchuk’s wife),” said Aslin, who also looked nervous according to Reuters.

Ukrainian security services on Monday published a video showing Viktor Medvedchuk, a tycoon and pro-Russian Ukrainian politician who was detained, who called to be exchanged for Ukrainian forces fighting in the port city of Mariupol, AFP reported.
