Ukraine war, Prophet remarks — ASEAN raises sticky issues in ties with India at Delhi meet
From the possibility of the impact of the Russian-Ukraine War in Southeast Asia and South Asia to comments on the Prophet Muhammad, the Foreign Minister of the Association of Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) raised several important problems during their visit to India.
This talks occur even when leaders struggle for greater connectivity and integration with South Asia through the country.
These problems were appointed at the ‘ASEAN-Indian Foreign Minister’s Meeting’ held in New Delhi Thursday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-Indian dialogue relationship in 2022, which was designated as the ‘ASEAN-India Friendship Year’.
The meeting was chaired by Foreign Minister S. Jaisankar and Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Foreign Affairs
Of the 10 ASEAN member countries, Myanmar, which was governed by the Military Junta, was not invited to the meeting.
During the Indian-ASEAN special meeting, Jaisankar said that the partnership between the two is now more important than before because of the “geopolitical headwinds” of the Russian-Ukraine war, and “the effect of beats on food and energy safety and disruption in logistics and supply chains”.
